I like it. It would be nicer without the watermark.

I hadnt noticed the watermark but such are pics from the net.... It does look like RIR but I am not sure if it is it would have been only hours before Rolf Stolmmenn died in this car.. Chris

Suitable pic. Though it really doesn't fit the space, so what?
Not RIR. Above the wing, lawn grass is visible behind the chain link. CAN'T BE Riverside if you are at all familiar with the place.

Wow! Have I been gone from the site that long? Between computer troubles, a change in the work schedule, and cleaning up from the hurricane, I've managed to overlook visits to this forum. Then, when I finally visit, I thought I had the wrong site--The new header threw me! I like it,(the new header) and it really is nice to be back!

RIR also did not allow RV or Camper parking behind the pit wall!! True dat! Not RV parking or camper parking per se, not behind the pit wall, but in the paddock where those are seen parked... RVs were sometimes used to tow in race car trailers, and thus there were sometimes RVs in the paddock. And Semi trailer rigs. And large enclosed trailers. And shade awnings. But still. The picture was NOT taken at RIR.

Oh . And I'm pretty sure the RIR pit wall had 4 courses of block, not 3. ;^)

Interestingly, from my research, the only time that driver duo appeared in that car, was at the Riverside race where Stommelen was killed. What's deceptive is that the door number is "2", but the hood number is "12", and the car raced as "12" in that particular race.
Clearly, the car is being supported by John Fitzpatrick Racing (look at the tool box door behind the car), and that is Stommelen's helmet on the roof of the car.
I never had a chance to visit Riverside, so not that individually familiar with the track, or the pit lane, but if not Riverside, where?

I hadnt noticed the numbers being different in the pic but I had read the J. David was tested at Mid-Ohio or Road Atlanta before being shipped to RIR , if this photo was from a test session that would explain the different numbers and casual items in the pit/background.. Chris Ps. the car was run in Europe also driven by Stolmmenn ..

I'd rather see a Piper 250 GTO lowline...no offense to Porschefiles. I'm just prejudiced!

Pit wall is on the wrong side (or conversely, the car is headed the wrong way) for Road Atlanta, assuming this is prior to them moving the pit lane. Never been to Mid-Ohio, and this isn't the correct orientation for that track either.
Only track I can come up with, off the top of my head, that would have a pit lane pointing that direction, would be Road America.

Would also match the pit direction at Watkins Glen.
