I realize that this is an old thread and that you've moved on to other things but dang....!!!! The level of detail work that you put into this car was amazing JC. From everything I've seen with this one it surely deserves to be built.

The project isn't dead Joe. A new kit of this car is on the horizon. I have been following the pre-production photos. I think my work so far compares very favorably but I want to see the final kit. I may yet finish this build.

JC, Just watched the video, and those Group B cars were truly insane. Way over powered even if the spectators weren't lining the road like a bunch of nut cases. Sooner or later someone was going to get killed. This is what I always had against World Rally Racing. Here in the states the rallying back in the 1960-70s were timed stages. Pretty boring stuff for anyone but the drivers and navigators. Never did rally myself, but we did think about it once or twice.

The same year Henri Toivonen got killed there was an ugly accident in Portugal that killed I think 7 spectators, including children. Henri's fatal crash 2 months later sealed the fate of Group B racing forever. Group B created some of the most awesome cars in history but maybe too much. The driver's were complaining for years about the out of control crowds.

Without crowd control, it was just an accident waiting to happen. After watching that video, I'm surprised that there wasn't a lot more accidents and spectators being hit and killed. Half the issue is that the spectators really didn't seem to understand just how dangerous it was to line the sides of the road, especially where the cars go airborne.
