Hi all,
Just found your forum - I am a retired Civil Engineer living is Castaic, California which is located north of Los Angeles near Magic Mountain Amusement Park. I have been avid modeler since my elementary school days. I do have a passion for motorsport modeling since I have been involved with SCCA racing during my younger days. Since my retirement early this year, I completed a Tamiya's McLaren Honda MP4/4, Porsche 911 GT2, Jagermeister Porsche RSR 934 and Mercedes GT3 kits. Presently working on Tamiya's Alfa 155 DTM kit. Lastly, I have a 1:1 1992 Alfa Spider in my garage. Still need to learn how to post photos on the Forum. Thanks, Ken Petersen

Hi Ken. Like The owner of this board, Chris Hale, I'm originally from the SF Valley and have a life of motorsports involvement including SCCA. I lived in the Santa Clarita Valley for nearly 10 years...Newhall, Valencia, Canyon Country. But for nearly 30 years, I've lived in the Mojave Desert. Lake LA. My folks attended a hill climb at Willow Springs before it was paved, and shortly after they met at a Cal Club race at Palm Springs. I grew up around road racing, hot rods, midgets, sprints, dry lakes, and in 1965, a fellow SCCA Tech Inspector who was later my brother's father-in-law, brought out his Burro buggy and during lunch break took me for a ride up the face of the hill above Turn 4 at Willow, down the back, and around the desert. He later was the Tech Chief for NORRA. I started working Tech for offroad races in'73. Won an offroad race Championship with my buggy in '83. My son is in Vegas today for the SEMA show and qualifying for the Baja 1000. He'll be racing the 1000 in a 5/1600 Baja Bug. I'm a retired race car fabricator. Done many restorations and hot rods and even movie sets. Been building model cars since 1960. So we have some things in common. Fair chance our paths have crossed. Welcome.

Welcome to the forum Ken! Sorry I couldn't greet you earlier, but just as glad to have you with us. I'm an old SCCA burn-out myself!
