Hi All, I finally got around to taking some pics of my second car build. This was a fun, relatively simple kit, so it was a good one to learn on. The only aftermarket I used was an ancient set of seatbelt buckles from Model Technologies and some Indycals tire decals. The tire decals worked okay, but I may try something different next time. I was never able to get all of the wrinkles out and the decals didn't respond as well to Solvaset as I had hoped. Paint was Gravity Colors Gulf Blue and Mr Color C69 Orange, which didn't quite match the orange decals. All of the gory details will be on Modeling Madness at some point. Cheers! Ben

Geez Ben! I think you "cross over" guys know more about doing autos than you're letting on. VERY nice job.

Ben, Great to see ya here on the boards.
I'm more then impressed with your Wyler Gulf 917K. It's also on my must build list. I've always been a huge Wyler fan, but when I saw the movie LeMans, this car has haunted me for many years. I keep on hoping that Michael from IndyCals will do the decals for these cars as that will seal the deal for me.
You did a absolutely fantastic build, and got the shell to fit perfectly, which was rather tricky for me on my Martini build. The paint job on the shell is just simply outstanding. I'm assuming you used the kit decals, and they came out great. The Orange stripping is just perfect, especially the tricky nose area. Are they decals, paint, or a combination of the two?
Loved Bill's comment on us "Cross Over Guys". Honestly, as you know it's been all unchartered waters for me when it comes to painting a car shell, but beyond that, plastic scale modeling is about the same for all disciplines. Bill's builds are all 1st class if you ask me.
