You would think there are enough books out on the Porsche 917, but no, you'd be wrong. One more has been published recently - "Gulf 917" by Jay Gillotti. It is a chassis by chassis history of the 917s race by the Gulf-sponsored JWAE team. It is not cheap at $150 but it is thick. It is 495 pages and weighs in at 6 pounds, and it comes in a slip case. Tons of color and B&W photos. Looks pretty good, although I am only about 50 pages in to my copy. The bibliography is interesting in that the author has made comments about many of the books listed - what good info they have or if they are good reads. (Turns out I have read about 18 of the books listed.) www.daltonwatson.com/Gulf-917-Regular-Hardbound-Edition-p/gulf-917-regular.htmThere is also a facebook page for the book. www.facebook.com/Gulf917/(Note: I do not get a dime from the sale of this book, but I did supply a couple of photos used by the author.)
