Here are a few photos of my finished commission Ford GT40 build, was a little bit of a challenge bringing the main body and the lower half together, due to my build plan with it being a curbside but after a few tweeks it came together well. Very happy with how the paint has polished up, especially with it being black which tends to show any imperfection. Other than a few additional parts its all built out of the box, and all in all i'm very pleased with the final outcome. It's not the greatest kit, especially when it comes to the engine detailing, but I would very much like to build it again (non-curbside) and make the many necessary modifications to correct the many authenticity flaws. Would require a lot of scratch building. Thanks Chris www.wardsmodelbuilder.comwardsmodelbuilder@outlook.com

Chris , I saw you are in England, what kind of paint are you using? Great finish. I try to keep my Fotki albums upgated for members to use. This link will take you to a page in my 1/16 AMR GT40 01/02 scratchbuild. there are a set of original factory drawings for almost every part of the GT40, Great for the scratchbuilder! public.fotki.com/pmodwrks/1-16-ford-gt40/page8.html I got them from GT40.com site where they have so much info on GT40's. They cover every chassis number which is nice to have when building.. Feel free to browse all my Fotki albums since they are there for everyone to use.. Chris

Chris Thanks, I use zero paints brand but i'm not sure that is available in the US, thanks for the ref material. I hope to build a full detailed GT40 again sometime and that will come in very useful. Chris, Zero paints are indeed available in the USA. but as per Zero paints dealers, there is only one in the USA:
HobbyWorld USA Phone: (603) 289-2572 Email: 1hobbyworldusa@gmail.com
I've dealt with him over the years, and he has a horrific out of stock issue that includes his Zero paints. So I switched to Gravity paints, and deal with Gravity of Spain, not Florida USA. They're simply outstanding including 3 day service to just about anywhere.

Joel Thanks for that info Joel, I have never used Gravity paints but heard a lot about them. I will give them a try, but I must say i'm very happy with zero paints, there selection is great and luckily I have no problems getting hold of them.
