Great build cc. Jim Hall original intended for the car to driven with the driver fully enclosed. That is the purpose of the large side windows and the wide flat windscreen. The driver, John Surtess I believe it was refused to drive the car in that configuration. So Hall was forced to raise the driver position significantly to allow Surtees head to stick out above the body work.

That's one really nice build of the Chaparral 2H. Honestly, I can see Surtees point about being able to properly see where one is going as well as where he just came from.

Thanks guys. Yes John did make them change the position. He could not make it work in that driving position. It was hard to see the apex of the corner. Chaparral was a real innovator.
