HAPPY FATHERS DAY !! I get asked a lot where did my Model Building Skills come from, This 1963 pic of my Dad, John Hale should pretty much explain it. He had won the Blue Ribbon for his Model Car display at the Orange County Fair ! I have a few of these cars in mint condition in my display case. Every year he insisted we each build Model Cars to enter at the O.C. Fair and we would set up a display of our work. Sadly, now that he has Dementia he doesnt remember any of this, but I will carry on Our legacy in my builds... Happy Fathers Day ! Chris

3rd car from my Dad's head is this 36 Ford Convert built in 1960 as a mild Kustom, here is more pics public.fotki.com/pmodwrks/model-cars/36-ford-kustom-by/ , In the late 80's I had my Dad meet me at the Ontario Ca, show, I did not tell him I entered this car in the Kustom Class, or that his long time friend Bud Anderson, The Kat from AMT, would be there to see him. He was so happy to see Bud, who was always coming by the shop to talk models with him. Then much to my surprise the 36 Ford was awarded , Best Kustom" and he was overwhelmed as I sent him up to pick up the Trophy, built some 29 years earlier. I had to reattach the exhaust headers and then used some Micro-Gloss compound to rub out the paint, and it was contest ready!!! It sits in my display case and the trophy sits at his house..
