I have bought a lot off e-bay, usually with no problems at all. I had one vendor a while ago who refused to sell to me after I had won an auction. Why? Because I'm a Canadian. However, can't blame e-bay for that.
But I'm posting about a Tyrell 003 Ebbro kit I bought for a very good price from Japan. And free shipping. Too good to be true, and it was. After waiting six weeks - no tracking number - I got an e-mail saying the post office had a flood and the item was damaged. So sorry, file a claim with e-bay. E-bay said they can't do anything for another three weeks at least, deal with the vendor. So much for the e-bay guaranty.
I called paypal, they said don't worry they'd start a file and take care of it. Thank you paypal.
So if you ever see an item from "apple_strawberry", my advice is approach with caution.
