HI
Not trying to come off as a whiney baby but I am sure there are folks whole will be taking it that way. Some of you keep asking about photos of my progress on the Cruze and I truly appreciate the interest, but, #1 being that I cannot get the quality photos that ALL you guys get. I don't know what I am doing and it shows.......so why beat myself up constantly trying to get the beautiful shots you guys achieve? I'll wait until the project is completed and THEN I'll see where I am.
#2 I DO not understand the "hosting" for a person like myself to post photo's of links, etc.. SOMEONE please explain this to me I feel so very ignorant on these subjects and basically I really am.
Cruze to date: the chassis is complete and ready to go, the body has been painted White, DHL Yellow, and clear lacquer. My first lacquer job, but not my last. I love working with this, so much nicer than enamel, especially the "flow" element of the paint itself. Tomorrow. low humidity, I will attempt my first Acrylic paint work. I have brushed it on on occasion but never an air brush. If i was to venture a guess maybe 2-3 more weeks until completion. I really never paid attention to how long it DOES take me to complete a project. I started messing with this in March.
My next project was all set to be the Modelers Chaparral 2D but, after rooting through my kits and since discovering ALL the different shades of lacquer available I have decided to complete my QUIK SKINS Aurora GTS-1. After all its probably 75-80% finished. I was never convinced that the body decals (wrong purple by a mile) was the way I wanted to go. Pays to wait I guess, what, 20 some years? I was privy to be able to have the run of the place at Harry Brix shop in 1996 in Wixom, Mi. I was developing a body using a Brookfield Aurora display model. It just happened to be composed of styrene so that made it VERY convenient to do the necessary body altering. I spent a day up there, measuring, on my knees. laying on my back, measuring some more, million questions for the crew guys there. Notes upon notes, GOOD PICTURES (Nikon em SLR Great camera), dozens of everything, rough drawings etc., etc.. You get the picture. Got back home started doing what needed to be done to the Brookfield car, I am not exactly sure how long the transformation took, THEN only to discover QUIK SKINS beat me to it. I knew Joe,... he wanted to cast my Olivetti Olds Cutlass. So I purchased a kit of his car, side by side with his version and mine.....kinda scary close. I have a picture for that BUT don't ask me to put it up. Anyhow its getting late I vented and updated, time for bed.
