I found out about this by accident. This method works for de-building those old gloo-bombs that were assembled with tube gloo years ago. If you have ever purchased an old built kit in hopes of doing a restoration or salvaging some rare parts, this very well my help you. Testors Model Master Acryl Dried Paint Solvent #50495 can help you save those old relics and save lots of those tiny parts too. Yes, it will attack plastic and yes it will attack clear parts and yes it will destroy chrome plating but you must be smart in how and how much you use. Apply it with a small brush to the glue joint, like you would liquid cement when doing assembly. You may have to apply more than one application and carefully "Work" the part loose. You might have to create a joint gap if the part (s) are heavily glued. When you have your parts removed, some water seems to help stop the action of this stuff. I have saved many old build-ups this way and I just finished taking down a heavily glued IMC Lola T-70 kit. Now those of you that know that kit know how many small suspension parts are there and how they mount. I was able to save them all but I could not save one seat. It had so much glue on the under side it was melted to the body pan. Face it guys, you can fix lots of things but you cant fix stupid. Now does this stuff magically make parts drop off with no effort? At times but you still have to work with it. If for some reason you do not like the way this works when you try it, the stuff will clean just about any paint I have found from a brush and I have even saved a couple brushes with it. This works better for me than any other method I have used to de-build a model kit. I have no idea how this stuff would work on super glue or some brand of hot liquid cement but for old tube glue this is great.
