Both are beautiful! I have that kit patiently waiting for bench time. thanks Ismael, yah i have many of these waiting for bench time. Like the 427 cobra kits, many decal sets are available and you can build 10 versions easy. Arcticwolf, try v-r-m.com for decals . they have 2 decal sheets. I ordered them from vrm weeks ago and I'm still waiting, haven't heard a word from them.

Hello, Here is another favorite. This was started in the early '90s but stalled until restarted and completed in 2006. Revell 1/100 US NAVY SH-60B Sea Hawk in ASW (Anti-submarine) role loaded with Mk-46 torpedoes. Added details include: Hydraulic lines in the main rotor, links, machined aluminum rotor mast, scratchbulit rescue winch, windshield wipers, seatbelts, wire seat headrests, seat cushions, center console instruments, antenna(behind the aft data link dome underneath), formation lights, landing gear hydraulic lines and low freq antenna among others. This is an interesting one as it was one of the first attempts of pushing the envelope of detailing. For this one, I asked for criticism to real experts and they pointed out 2 errors (link orientation and inverted step position) that are too late to correct but I appreciate the learnings. I like the last picture

Hello, Second to last helicopter to show. This one has a story as well. I remember seeing this kit around 1989-90. As a teenager in the late 80's, I fell in love with this concept. Stealth was the IN thing. For some reason I did not get it immediately, and it was then impossible to find, never reissued. For years, it was an obsession to find. I even carried a picture of the box from a catalog in my wallet. Fast forward to early 2006, I finally got one from eBay. It was build pretty much box stock. It was my first aircraft built after about 10 years of cars only modeling. Testors Stingbat LHX Stealth helicopter 1/48 scale As far as I know, it was released only once in 1989 and never reissued. I even still have the box. Thanks,

Hello, OK, this is my last helicopter to post in this thread... unless I find the missing ones. I can think of at least 8 more helicopters builds plus several started ones I don't know their whereabouts. I need to check in my father's house and my sister's. Anyways, this is ironic. This is the youngest of my "old" builds, but the one that has deteriorated the most. The BMF deteriorated very badly and looks horrible now. McDonnell XV-1 Convertiplane Scale 1/32 Company: Glencoe This model was finished in 2007. The kit is a reissue of the original ITC model that dates back from the late 50's! Added cyclic stick, seat cushions and seatbelts. Pics from 2007: rotor test Unfortunately, this is how it looks today (May 2020). Never seen BMF like this before. Thanks, Ismael

Hello, Other than the Japanese Zero, this is my only WWII aircraft. Messerschmitt Me 262 in 1/48 scale. The world's first operational jet fighter entering service in 1944. The British Gloster Meteor was introduced at about the same, but the Me 262 is considered to have been the first one. I don't remember exactly but I think this is the old Monogram kit that dates back from the late 70's. This was built around the mid 90's. I remember been very happy with the airbrushed cammo pattern. While photographing it, I was tempted to do a wash and drybrush for added realism, but I stand firm this is my history. I can always do another one. The tail looks crooked in this pic. Gotta check on that. Thanks, Ismael

Very nice build, Ismael. That camo does look good. Even though it's German, I've always been a fan of the lines of the 262

Hello, Continuing with this thread, here is what turned out to be my last fighter aircraft to date, built in 1997. Sukhoi-27 Russian Knights demonstration aerobatic team. 1/48 scale, Academy kit. This is definitely one of the most challenging aircraft builds I've ever done. A big decal nightmare with all the red and blue massive decals, tails, etc. The back of the aircraft is regular cammo while the front is show type flag colors. Tail fins are cammo inside, white with massive decals outside. Rudders, flaps, slats are all separate. A really enjoyable kit except for the decals. Almost box stock with added landing lights, some hydraulic lines and a few other minor details. I remember been very proud of the metal job on the engines. Decals have deteriorated a little bit over the years. Some edge lifting and cracking. This monster barely fits in the lightbox. Landing lights were done with clear epoxy. They have yellowed over the years and now look like amber fog lights That hydraulic line is a bit loose. I tried to glue it back in place but it is not cooperating. Thanks, Ismael

Hello again, My only airplane diorama. Built in the early to mid 90's. This is an interesting one: I tried to replicate a snowy runway. But at the time, I hadn't ever personally seen snow. I saw snow for the first time in my life at age 28 Saab Viggen J-37 1/72 scale. Most likely an Airfix kit but I don't remember for sure. Kind of recall finding an online picture of this exact color scheme and used as reference, before online research took off. Well, This is it for military aircraft. Now, let's move to airliners... Thanks, Ismael

Hello, You may have seen this one in the thread about the photo backdrop I recently worked on. This is a Convair 880 model in the oddball scale of 1/126. Bought as a Glencoe kit, I understand the kit was originally a Hawk mold, but I can't confirm. Built probably in the very early 90's. The white enamel paint has yellowed over the years. Not surprisingly, the decals have deteriorated a bit. Took it to the workbench for a clean job before the pictures. Thanks, Ismael

Ben, I'm just floored at your built collection. Same goes for Ismael. The two of you could open up a model aircraft and car museum for sure.
I've got maybe 2 dozen aircraft models all stored in frosted plastic bins in the basement. I really should pull out a few to share with you guys.

Thanks, guys!
Joel, yes, please do share some pics of your other models. I’d love to see them.
I also have three plastic bins with “retired” models in them, about half of which I’ll eventually break down for spare parts for future projects. I ran out of room in my display case so I’ve had to rotate out old models to make room for the new ones. I need to build another case to house my cars and the overflow from the big case. Up until now, I’ve had my cars all crammed onto a corner of my desk in my office.

Hello, Boeing 707: Maybe Airfix 1/144?..... I can't remember. Must have been built early 90's when I was building airliners. Thanks,
