Without stripping the entire paint job...
Any and all suggestions considered.

If the model hasn't been clear coated, it should be pretty easy. First route is to use cellophane tape, cheap stuff seems to be stickier (altho I have resorted to packaging tape occasionally, if you are confident in your paint's toughness). Burnish it right down on the decal and peel. Most, if not all, of the decal should come off, repeat if necessary. If you have some small stubborn bits, I sometimes soak in warm water with a little dish soap, if you can't submerge the whole model, just use bits of tissue and keep them wet. Decals should loosen and scrape off easily with a fingernail or toothpick. Last resort is to try Solvaset, the main problem with this is timing. If you leave it too long, it basically turns the decal back into liquid ink which can leave a stain. This can USUALLY be polished off but can be tough to get out of body lines. HTH!

Brian Thanks Brian! This is what I have to remove... hasn't been clear coated but put down with MicroSol... If I have to reshoot it, it might go back in the box for a time-out whilest I move on to another project...

Looks like the tape trick should work.

If the tape trick doesn't work 100%, try MicroSet. Just keep applying it until the decal gives up and falls off. I won't always work, but it doesn't hurt anything.
If you have clear coated over the decal, belt sander or sandblaster................

Tape is always the first choice, quick and easy and doesn't usually damage anything. Glad it worked out for you!

Just be careful the tape doesn’t touch a decal you want to keep. Ask me how I know! Beb
