I just got my hands on several Ford GTs and would like to make them fairly close to an actual car. They are both IMC and Testors which appear to be from the same molds.
I now have the original Ford GT molded in white
Ford GT40 (MkI? Blue and Orange Gulf livery on box) one molded in white and one molded in light blue
Ford GT MKII Molded in black I've been googling chassis numbers but didn't realize there were so many.
Just wondering which versions others have built with these kits.

I have built all of them. I do not have a separate photo site to post pictures but search on the modelcarsmag.com forum and you will find a lot of information on building the IMC kits.

You might also get some books on meditation as those kits can try a man's soul LOL

You might also get some books on meditation as those kits can try a man's soul LOL John I have built the Number 11 GT a couple of times. Once as a teenager back when it first came out, pretty pathetic results. And a second time more recently according to instructions to see how it could have turned out. But now I want to build with a specific chassis number as a guide to see how I can do with building one that's more historically accurate by adding a little more detail.

Right now chassis number 1075 or 1076 seem to have a lot of pictures on the net for reference for building the MkI. Any other suggestions?

Use the Internet (Ford GT images), there are hundreds of sites about Ford GTs until you are Overwhelmed with info. I get Pinterest and really like it, updated daily, just enter Ford GT in "Search" and stand back. This Race Car Models website has all you need to know to build Professional models, GREAT Guys all Modelers and Historians, they'll steer you right!

The Union incarnation doesn't fit any better. Boiling water helps.

Thanks for all the tips! I found this sight that pin-points the Gulf livery cars and their chassis numbers - www.gt40gulfliverycars.com/thecars.htmlAlso the Reference Material section on this board looks like it will help to fill in a lot of details, a real "gold mine"! Now I just need to find the time to get the building started.
