I'm embarrassed to post this one, but I figured I'd go ahead in case anyone considers purchasing the kit. Of course, right after I bought it, Tamiya reissued their C9. Hasegawa's is a curbside kit with the large wing and cut-down radiator outlet panel (which doesn't fit worth s***) for road course races. Tamiya's has the low-drag set-up for Le Mans. I jumped into this one thinking the one color paint job and curbside design would be a quick, fun build like Hasegawa's Porsche 962C and Mazda 767b. It was for a while, until I got to the clear parts. The fit was terrible, and no amount of sanding and trimming will get the headlight covers to fit properly, since they don't match the contours of the body. That pretty much killed my enthusiasm for continuing. The axles for the front wheels were too small in diameter for the poly caps to hold the wheels on, so I had to glue them. I ended up just throwing things together at the end, just to get it off my bench. If I had put it on the Shelf of Doom, it would have become a permanent resident. As usual, the Shunko decals I used performed perfectly. It's just a waste of money to use them on this kit. Bottom line, get the Tamiya kit. Ben

I know the feeling. But it looks great from here. That's a beautiful car.

It looks great Ben. Just adds to my general feeling towards most Hasagawa kits - buy the other guy's.
I used Shunko decals on my Jaguar, they were terrific but they cost more than the kit.

Thanks, guys! It's not one of my better builds, but it makes a decent 6-footer. The kit has potential, I guess. Some home vacuforming can fix the clear part problems and a better radiator panel can be scratchbuilt. That's just far more work than I'm willing to put into a model these days, especially for a subject I'm only mildly interested in. Now, if somebody were to release a Hurcan GT3, I'd happily go overboard on that one! Ben

Sorry to hear about the unpleasant ending on this one Ben, but I'm a lot closer than 6' from my monitor and it looks excellent! Super fine paint finish on this. Thanks for the heads up on this kit.
