Ben, The decaling and fixes looks perfect. The overall look of the Magnus car is just plain stunning.

Thanks! I finished it this morning. I’ll post some pics later. Unfortunately, they’ll be crappy cell phone pics again. I really need to find a good place to setup my DSLR camera.

Ben, I use my Nikon D7500 for the final set of pics on a tripod right in front of my bench. Of course it's clean. I tape a Gray towel to the wall and just drape it over the front of the bench. Lighting is usually from two tensor daylight desk lamps with fill via my Ott work lamp.

Since we're empty nesters, I may take over my younger daughters' desk as a photo stand. She lives just across town, so she won't be using her room. That way I won't have to drag even more stuff into my crowded office. I just need the time to do it. Anyway, here are crappy cell pics of the finished Cylon Racer. It was a fun kit. The dark colors stand out among all of the other brightly colored models. Ben

From the telecast: ...GT Daytona, MAGNUS brings it home in the Audi winning here at the Rolex 24..... Congrats on a great build of a great car in a great race!
Thanks, Ismael

Ben, The pics are ok, but the model is darn near perfect. As usual, I'm impressed with the decaling. Those white stripes weaving in and out of the top fender air ducks are absolutely dead on. I never get it that way, as I always need some touch paint here and there.
So what's next on your build list.
Good thinking about taking over your daughter's desk. I took over the guest room years ago, and the cat took over my son's room. When they come to visit, I just let them take it up with the cat and stay out of it.

Thanks, guys!
Those light colored stripes going over the fender vents are that mirror finish Mylar I was experimenting with. It was actually easier to apply over the vents than decal film, because it stayed stuck when I cut it. All I had to do was press it into the vents with a toothpick. The clear coat toned down the reflectiveness a little and actually made it more visible, like the real car. The mirror finish was a little too reflective. It will be perfect for mirrors on future projects.

Ben, Can you post a picture of what the clear Mylar package looks like, and maybe where I should look for it? joel

Hi Joel, Here’s a link to the Hasegawa Mirror Finish stuff on Amazon: LINK. It also comes in other colors. I only paid $12 shipped when I bought mine a couple of months ago. You can also get it through eBay, HobbyLink Japan, and a lot of other shops in Asia, but it would cost almost $20 for a sheet. There’s enough left over for me to use it for a lot of mirrors and headlight reflectors. If I hadn’t hated Bare Metal Foil so much, I probably would never have tried the Mylar, due to the price. Ben
