Paul, That's a great idea. The newer Tamiya ones are the best I've seen for printed detail. Going to give a try for my Tin Tops,

Adrian, how you pack all that detail into that small a scale is beyond me.

Adrian, How on earth did you manage to shrink the real deal down to 1/18 scale? The cockpit looks amazing, with the star being your 6 way harness.

Adrian, how you pack all that detail into that small a scale is beyond me. Thank you sir - there is still more to go in - I have always felt like the cockpit gets overlooked so often and is lacking detail and definition as compared to the rest of the model. So I have always enjoyed doing cockpits and trying to make them as realistic as possible - I know they rarely get looked at once the model is on the shelf, but I always lock inside first to see how much effort was put into the Cockpit

Adrian, And what a Canadian driver he was. A real credit to the Indy Car or should I have said Cart?

Adrian, just one question about the office... is that shifter on the right actually to scale? It seems awfully big and very "unergonomic". I can't imagine trying to grip a ball that size.
Other than that, what is the left hand knob for with the gold casing below it?

Other than that, what is the left hand knob for with the gold casing below it? To be perfectly honest Patrick I had great difficulty sourcing any photos of Jacques actual cockpit - none to be precise - and not from a lack of effort. Therefore I had to try and create it from bits of shots of other Reynards from 95 - still scarce. The shifter knob is an actual ball bearing hit with flat clear - it is a big out of scale but working at this scale it is pretty tough to always nail scale bang on - I may have to go to a smaller ball bearing though. The shifter on the left is also a ball bearing and I tried to recreate the lever I saw in one of the interior shots I found - the casing appeared to be cooper or gold in colour. In the late 90's to early 2000's the left side levers were the Reverse and Neutral shifters if I'm not mistaken - I recreated them on the KOOL car I did. To sum up I have done the best I could with very little reference material to go by.

The left hand shifter is the anti roll bar adjuster.

The left hand shifter is the anti roll bar adjuster. I know it was on the early 90's Indy Cars, but was that still the case by 95?

So I'm in the middle of a move and all the madness involved in that - so when I have spare time I'm sneaking in modeling, but I don't have a tonne of extra time to go into all of the details I would like to in reagrds to these updates so I decided the best thing to do is just list what you are looking at and if you have any questions or criticisms please feel free to comment - Progress to date on the car in general - getting very close to final assembly. - The Rear 'Tail Fin' Spoiler that was on Jacques Car but was never included in any of the models released - I scratch built it in metal. - The Head rest installed on Jacques Car for the 500 to help with the g-Forces coming always from the Right hand side This piece was never included on any of the released models - complete with real rubber support - Carburetor with real metal body

Adrian, Sure hope that you're moving into larger quarters so you have more elbow room to model and display your work.
Those details especially the tall fin are all amazing. Right up there to your exacting standards.
