Guys, since Michael had his stroke back months ago I know many have been pulling for him to come through and Join back in the Hobby but Yesterday He passed away at 3:23pm. That is all the info I have right now but if you have built any UMI Models or have a memory of Michael, like His very popular Model Racing Replica News Magazine, Please post here and remember Michael Quarterman as the man who did so much for the Hobby. Peace, R.I.P. M.Q. Chris

Always so sad to loose one of our members, and a leader in our hobby. Michael RIP.

I treasured every issue of MRRN. Very sad to hear this news.

MRRN was a modeling bible for me. Sad to hear of Michael's passing - godspeed to him.

That is really a bummer, and a big loss . Prayers for Michael and his family. I still consider his Motor Racing Replica News/Motor Racing Models to be my favorite modeling magazine ever. Every issue had at least one, and usually more, race cars that I would love to model, and most of the articles included information on just how to accomplish it. I still love to browse thru them every so often. If you love modeling race cars, and don't have any (or all) of the 41 issues of his magazine that Michael published from 1991 through 2000, you should check with Curt Raitz (see link below) to find out if he still has the computer CD-Rom containing every issue of MRRN/MRM magazine in PDF format available to purchase, that Curt created with Michael's permission. The magazine was produced entirely in black & white (the covers of some issues included one color ), but still definitely worth having. And the CD-Rom's price ($15 US when originally released in 2011) makes it an absolute steal, even if the price may have increased since then, IMHO. www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/54376-motor-racing-models-magazine-on-disc/Note: I don't know whether Curt's mailing or email addresses listed in the above link are still valid, but Curt is a member of the Model Cars Magazine forum, so you could contact him via Private Message through that forum to find out first. Rest In Peace, Michael. Cameron

Didn't know the guy as I am late to this game but sounds like a pioneer in the world of motor racing models!
RIP, MQ!
