HA! That I know. While Cobras and Corvettes were biting each other, I think they were more "related" than we think. In Carroll Shelby's words, Zora and him were "mortal enemies" at the track but very good friends and it seems they had a lot of drinks together. In an interview Shelby said "if they let Zora build what he wanted to, there would never be any reason to build the Cobra." Shelby actually started tinkering with 3 Corvettes back in '57. But GM did not allow him to continue the program. Then in '61 he first thought of getting Corvette engines for his prototype car when he was told about a new Ford engine at about the same time AC announced they were looking for an engine supplier. And Ford was very interested in a sports car to beat the Corvette as the Thunderbird was not. GM killed the Grand Sport as it was born. Cobras were really Shelby's, not Fords and were only built for a few years. But if these guys would have been let loose, the sports car landscape would have been very different. It was not until 1999 that GM realized "Hey! Let's take the Corvette racing! Geez! What a great idea we just had!" but I'm swerving off topic already Thanks, Ismael

Since I have the kit and (most of) the decals, figured I might as well build it's stablemate, the Comstock GT350R Mustang.
Basic build of the nice Monogram kit.
I cut out the wrongly located battery and patched the hole. This is where the unique coolant tank goes later.
Interior nothing fancy, correct instrument panel installed.
I used some Mig accent washes on the seats and motor.
next step decals.

Mustang done, for the moment.
This was a GT350R kit, so not many changes needed. Very nice, very accurate kit, one of Monogram's good ones. It even has the correct vented rear window that I've never seen on any other kit:
Thanks for tuning in
Paul

Nice work Paul. Glad you didn't use of the oversized rear tires that comes in most versions of the Monogram kit that I have seen. I agree Monogram did a real nice job with this kit.

It should have GT350 rocker panel stripes in green, if I ever get my PC fixed I'll print them and add them on.
