I watched some of the races yesterday. I’d much rather watch the older cars than the video game cars of today that do not require manual shifting.

In one of the photos , it shows a piece of the Brake Caliper or Pad exploding off the Left front wheel!! Bummer!! I would assume the owner pays although there are many companies that sell Vintage & Historic Race Car Accident Insurance... I would hope the owner bought some from Hagerty or ? I watched a few vids on You Tube that said the brakes just failed and that's why he spun and hit the barrier. At least he went in backwards as that was the better of the two options.

Click the pic, it clearly shows a Brake Pad in the air coming off the left front wheel.. either way......Bummer! Chris

Chris, That's an amazing shot. I'm guessing that the brake calipers failed due to age, and just couldn't cope with the line pressures. I'm wondering if they were ever changed.
