I had the Trumpeter kit. I took a look at it, decided I wasn't thrilled and swapped it to Patrick. It reminded me of their ship kits, which personally I don't think measure up, but some people like them. That's OK, I have more than enough to keep me occupied.
If I really want to get creative, I have a 1/20th Ford GT that somebody built probably years ago - I guess it's a Revell. It looks interesting.

I had started to build the Otai 1/16 Ford GT40 as the Alan Mann Racing AMRGT40 01/02 427 cid with Webers ( one of 7 factory light weights ) using the MPC Cobra 427 block and most of the body discarding the rest of the kit and scratchbuilding the rest. I had someone 3D print me some Weber IDF48 carbs and it was coming along nicely until the body work. The sides of the AMR GT$) are flat no strakes and the intake side scoop I can only say is like a Pro Stock Drag scoop. I did all that but beyond the door I ran into some snags on the rear of the body. so it sits on the project shelf waiting for me to get it together and start building again... I scratchbuilt tub and suspension is real nice and still need more work, the Graham Hill Seat I made out of brass and covered it with split suede leather. So much more to do... Chris

Very nice build. I like how you used some of the IMC kit parts to add more detail. I have a ton of extra IMC/Testors/AMT MKII kits/parts so I will probably use them as you did. I bought two of the MENG kits but have not bought the 1/12 one as I have the Trumpeter and Magnifier kits. One thing I saw I did not like about the 1/24 MENG kit was the decal stripes on the roof that do not include the section for the door. Having bought two kits that is not a problem since they provide decals for the #1 and #2 cars.

Paul, Just caught up with your build, and as usual, you did one stellar job. Excellent job of modifying the front compartment to fit that oil tank and assembly. Overall, your build is another winner.
I also have this kit in my stash as it will take the place of the Fujimi kit or do a very rare side by side build.

Thanks guys. I think you would enjoy building this one. I wouldn't mind picking up another so I could swap out the big block for a 289 and put the rear bodywork from the Fujimi on it to make a decent MK 1, but I doubt I'll ever get around to it. Besides, I have Ferrari's to build!!
