I discovered the Robustelli Heller transkits a few years back and after building the Bastos BMW 84 Spa 24 winning car I was hooked. They are based on the inexpensive Heller 1/43 kits that you can pick up for about $10. and transform the kit into a real contender I had a great time building this transkit so I bought a few more. The transkits were selling for about $20. then but since have gone up to $60. I would still buy them if they fit the budget . Now I am building the FPS 1984 M635 BMW and again having a great time. I am having some trouble getting Fotki to download but when I do I will post the new project. MORE TO COME!!!!!

Fixed that.. Robustelli instructions First I cut the back half of the interior off and created a new section once I was happy with the new interior I began stripping all the trim and doing the body modifications. In this small town buying good paint is a big problem, I had read Rustoleum Lacquer was good so at $10 for a large spray can I gave it a go and I was very surprised at the finish, it came out smooth , covered well and even. I am pretty happy with it. The can will paint a bunch of cars only drawback is the lack of colors, I think I saw maybe 12 total. next up I am going to finish detailing the interior and start decals, the decals for the dash were excellent. I remembered when I built the Bastos car how nice the Cartigraph decals went on and application was smooth and easy. more later...

Chris, a word of caution about the Rustolium paints. The paint is fine, the clear coat is quite nice and relatively benign, but be careful over decals. Some it won't hurt and others it turns into goop.
As always, test first!!

Always impressive checking out 1/43 builds. To bad I can't see them well enough in real life to even consider giving it a try.
