I am going to put in new LED shop lighting over my bench, but what colour temperature lighting to use ? 5000K seems to be most popular but there are 4000K as well.
Plus is there a good brand for LED lighting ?
I only ask because my cellar is like a black hole !

If you want a lot of light, look into Barrina LED lights. I bought these based on a long discussion about garage lighting on the Grassroots Motorsports forum. I haven’t had time to pull my fluorescent ones and install them yet. I think you can still get them in individual bars, instead of just an eight-pack. I also have a 4 ft LED light from Home Depot over my garage work bench that is 5000 K. I don’t know if we can see much difference between 4000 K and 5000 K, but I went with the closest I could get to daylight. Some people commented that working under LEDs for a long time gave them headaches, but I haven’t experienced that. Ben

I'd go for the 5K as that's daylight on the Kelvin scale.
