Started building model cars in 1958 and continued building them through 1994 when I graduated to building the real thing. Worked on Winston Cup teams for Bill Scott, Butch Lindly, Morgan Shepherd, Joe Ruttman, and David Pearson. Also worked for Ford SVO traveling around the country with their show rig to NASCAR rases, sportscar races, drag races, Indy car races, and even a Formula 1 race. I worked for Kenny Bernstein's Cup team. I was a track photographer for Daytona and Talladega in the late 60's early 70's.
My cousin got me involved in building models again about a year ago. Right now, I have, probably, 35 cars in various stages of construction, but only 3 finished
I'm trying to build a model of every Cup car I worked on, plus as many of the cars I've owned as there are kits for, plus sportscars from the 60's and early 70's. I'm also a big Shelby fan and building most of the cars he had anything to do with. It's surprising to me that some of the expensive kits from Japan, like the Daytona Coupe, are curbside kits. For the price you pay, it should have an engine included!
I'm also into building haulers for my racecars.
