My daughter took a trip a couple of weeks ago to Electric Dreams owned by long time family friend Phillipe DeLespinay in Costa Mesa Ca. and picked up the materials he used in his New book 'Slot Car Dreams" he sent along a copy of the book. Basically it's the early history of the 60's and 70's Slot Car Craze in America. This book is amazing , not just in format, information and personal input but also because it works hand in hand with the website LASCM.com which has additional info on almost every chapter. Here's how it goes beyond any such book of the past. You find a page on say, "Cox" Slot cars, just after the title or paragraph depending there is a reference # to the side, in this case 0009, enter it on the LASCM.com section under Book and you will get anywhere from a Paragraph or two to numerous pages on that subject. Its amazing!!! A novel idea I have never seen done, Phillipe told me the book is 300+ pages and if he had included all this additional info it would have been more like 1,000 pages. This format also allows him to add more info , photos and records as they become available. Sure at $150.00 its a bit pricey but I assure you worth every cent. I wanted to Thank Philipe for including so much info on Santa Ana Raceways and my Dad, John Hale like the Forward by D.S. Gurney, the coverage of 'Around the World in 80 Hours" Champion Promo, and articles about the Cox Iso Fulcrum chassis, many races like annual the 24 hour Enduro"s plus more. Phillipe has been a friend since I was 8 years old and although we excuse him for being a Frenchman ( industry wide Joke) he has done so much for Slot car History. also a Thank You to the Los Angeles Slot Car Museum and its owner Scott Bader for gathering hundreds of thousands of slot car history and preserving it for all. Go Online to LASCM.com for info visiting the Museum in Hollywood Ca. A Beautiful place with so many displays, slot cars and Scott's real race cars. Thank's Guy's Chris Hale
