When I first started going to SCCA races back in the mid-60's I went many a time to Cotati Raceway 50 miles North of San Francisco. I knew it as an old Navy airstrip. Lately I found a poster being sold at Monterey for a board track at Cotati in the 1920's... Back in the mid-90s I built a T racer and loved the artillery wheels... I always wanted to build another one and this time I started with a Frontinac head supplied engine which came from the AMT Vintage Police car, a good kit...so I did some research and found out that sometimes the chassis were shortened some...I did the same... assembled the Fronty DOHC and added the magneto wiring, made a vac-formed rear body-tank, and cut the engine hood narrow... I made a body shroud out of paper and then cut one from .010 plastic sheet, trimmed, and fitted it to the rear tank... notice the "hot" liquid glue will melt the thin plastic sheet! Also notice the rear tank's ridge down the middle...the car is called the Ridge-Back Special...I added brake lines(mechanical ones!) and the handle... added an outlandish radiator cap... and voila! A 1920s Model T Ford Ridge-Back Special and mighty fun to build... Patrick
