GT as in modern GT ... GT-1, GT-2, GT-3?
Or as in 1960s GT such as Ferrari GTO, XKE, Cobra, etc.
Or as in both of those +?
Would this include Group 2-5 of the 70s-80s? Or would that be a separate bridge when we arrive at it?

I think GT would be SCCA ? This is pretty much DTM or Factory Silhouette race cars in those specific championships. If there are other categories that need to be added Please send me a PM , this board is for all members, and if you build a model that doesnt have a home, let me know and I will add that category. If there are other categories that need to be added Please send me a PM , this board is for all members, and if you build a model that doesnt have a home, let me know and I will add that category. Chris GT in the 60s was the FIA Manufacturer's Championship category for Ferrari GTO, Jag XKE, Cobra, Ferrari Daytona, Aston Martin 214, etc. Silhouette Grand Touring cars were production-based FIA Manufacturers Championship and DTM cars of the 70s and 80s under FIA Group 5 rules. These included cars such as Porsche 911 Carrera, 930 turbo, 934, and 935, BMW 320i Turbo, Toyota Celica Turbo, Capri Turbo, etc. SCCA Trans Am (post 1973), IMSA GTO, GTS and GTX and SCCA amateur GT classes are all based on the FIA Group 5 rules of the early 79s to mid 80s. Trans Am and SCCA GT as well as FIA GT and DTM all still use rules based on the 1970s Group 5 silhouette concept. GT is again, for like the last 20 years, the category in FIA competition for cars with body designs based on production grand touring cars such as Aston Martin DBR9, Porsche GT2 and GT3, Ferrari 599, Corvette C5R and C6R, Saleen S7R, Viper GTSR, GT2 and Comp Coupe, Maserati MC12, etc. These cars are sub-classified into FIA classes of GT1, GT2 and GT3. Some "Super Cars" have been included such as McLaren F1, Nissan R390GT1, Porsche GT1 and Ferrari F50. While the rules still allow "silhouette" construction with little in the way of production parts to a car as in the Corvette and Aston Martins, some, such as the Porsche and BMW cars are still, as they were in the heat of the Group 5 era, built on production sheet metal tubs and suspension components, but the fenders more closely resemble factory equipment under the modern rules. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIA_GT_ChampionshipSo....While you didn't REALLY answer my previous question Chris, I am going to interpret your answer as indicating that this category is intended to be about the last of my 3 category descriptions from above.

;)I really don't see the need for specificity in the categories. I bet if anyone posts a build we 'll be able to figure it out as to what type of race car build is being shown. Anyway, to me, the touring cars are more European in classes than the TransAmers of Nor-America. I want to see some work that you guys are doing!
