I am getting a little serious about my HO Slot Cars, having been a founding member of H.O.U.R.O.C. back in the Sixties, developing cars for Ruskit, Aurora, Cobramite, TycoPro and other manufactures. Being the son of one of the pioneers in slot cars I have a reputation to live up to. As I prepare to build a track I have parts that I scored all over California in the 80's in my travels for my employer. I would walk in a local hobby shop and ask if they had any left over Aurora parts from the Boom. I offered them low ball money and usually walked away with boxes of parts and track. Now I am putting it to work. I wanted to make sure I have all the right tools , I made an Armature Balancer, with some Carpet Cutter Blades, Bubble level abs styrene, and after days of planning, making parts and a little patience, here its is , it works great. You put the Pancake armature between the 2 blades so it will spin a couple of times. mark the spot on the very bottom, do it again it should be the same the take the Dremel and shave a bit off then spin it again until it never stops on the same spot repeatedly. Here's the pics enjoy: more to come, I made a Test-Break in box to show next time. Chris

Chris, So you're building a Slot car track at your home now. That's some project for sure.
As for your home made armature balancer, It does look darn good.
Looking forward to following your track build, tools, and cars.
