GM is doing away with its factory Corvette team after 25 years. Starting at the 2024 Daytona, they’ll be supporting privateer teams with the new Z06 GT3R LINKBen

You beat me to it. I knew this was coming since they let go Doug Fehan back in late 2020. While sad to see the team go, it's been an incredible journey. Nobody in their wildest dreams thought it was going to be that successful. The original plan was to do only a few years until a customer based effort could be established. In fact, Dale Earnhardt was in conversations to put a deal together for a possible "private" C5R team back in the day. Hard for me to accept as a hardcore fan, but I think it is the right move: Keep racing presence for the brand while making a small profit instead of been only an expense.
Thanks, Ismael

How sad, but they gave it a good ride and leave with heads held high. The overall win and second at Daytona was the crowning achievement. Ford did they same thing with the new Ford GT. The Europeans put too many restrictions on the Corvette program when they were winning and emasculated the cars. Thanks for the Memories Corvette Racing, you did us Proud!

Always sad to see a full American Factory effort shut down. At least they will be concentrating on two teams of 2 for the GTD-Pro and GTD classes. joel
