Hello - been awhile since I posted. Here's a couple recent HO builds I thought might be worth sharing. The first is an Eldon Ferrari P3 mounted on a TFX. Now Eldon offered these in a set (and seperately as well) along with a nice Ford GT. Both shells were thin, lightweight, and a bit wider than the usual T-Jet body at the time, so they are a nice upgraded "handling body." The Ferrari was painted in Tamiya yellow & clear pearl and it really pops. The photos don't really do it justice... The body lines are cool, kinda like a 1/24th pro slot body but smaller. Very '60's - I like it. And yes, it handles great.
The other car I just finished is an AFX M/T 4 Gear NY Modified. I've been wanting to build one for awhile. There's apparently a scene for these in New York and more than a few racers. There's a great website that sells a neat conversion kit that allows the mounting of an Ertl's diecast vintage modified shell. (Check out nymodifieds.com) Interestingly, the heavy diecast body doesn't seem to affect the car's performance that much and mine handles very well. I'm glad i built mine I'm very pleased. Pics in the next post....

Wow that Eldon Ferrari looks Great I like the shape of the body a lot, I wonder where I could get some? THe Modified is pretty neat too I still dont get 4 gear T-jet but there seems to be a lot of 4 Gear racing going on. Can you tell me a bit about the 4 gear stuff? I have 4 or 5 but haven't run them yet. Chris

Hey, Chris - I'm not a real fan of the 4Gear - it's only because of the conversion kit that I built one at all! They allow the use of huge rear tires (ie drag cars, etc.) & a slightly longer wheelbase and that's the only advantage I can see. I'll post up a couple more pics for that oval group so you can check 'em out. Dave
