The German company Fein Design makes some superb Slot Car bodies in 1:24 and the quality is superb. However, like the Italian Racer company, their bodies are adapted for Slot Racing and the dimensions are not always true to scale. Like the 1970's "Handling" Slot Car bodies these are wider than correct scale. The reason is that the pre-1969 cars in correct scale are too narrow and are not as quick as the much wider Porsche 917 and Ferrari 512's They look great, but are not correct scale models :-( I have a couple of their kits and have had other, which i sold, but here is their 1969 Lola T70 Mk IIIB Sunoco Coupe compared to the older (and more correct) Mini Exotics version of the same car: Left is the Fein and the Mini Exotics on the right. The original car was 174mm long in 1:24 scale - the fein version is 179 and the ME is 176mm Total Width is difficult to find as most sources talk of Track in stead of total width, but the Fein is massive 84,2mm and the ME is 76mm both meassured across the rear wheel arches. To comparison is BestBalsaBE's superb 1:12 Mk IIIB transkit 151mm wide = 75,5mm in 1:24 It is tempting to buy the Fein models (when you can afford them) as they make some interesting subjects in a superb quality which often are not obtainable elsewhere, but be cautious if you want a model in correct 1:24 scale yours, Niels Elmholt DK
