I am an avid road race fan, when COTA (Circuit of the Americas) was built in my backyard, literally 2.5 miles from my home. I began to put together a petition to bring the legends of Trans Am here. I have long been a fan of the cars of Trans Am and for the life of me I can't understand why NASCAR won't even come look at our track. Over the years I have been collecting and building Trans Am racing series cars and IMSA cars and I am currently building a slot car track for Trans Am and IMSA Cars. I have all the IMSA GT and GTO and GTO cars by Monogram first and later by Revell (mostly Monogram though). In addition I have 1/64th scale replicas of road race ringers, and the cars of the Trans Am Series, the Pony Wars.

Welcome to the forum. Aren't all the NASCAR dates already paid for and locked up? --Frank

Alterren, yeah they are already booked up but they could still send a representative to check out the facilities, I guess that hairpin turn in the backstretch scares them, or the hard left turn on turn one that causes grief for everyone who races at COTA. From Formula 1 to ALMS, they all say the same thing, that COTA is one of the most challenging courses that they run on. If you ever watch the Moto GP or the Formula 1 you will see some very competitive racing and I guess that's what scares NASCAR away. If you ask me they are a bunch of pansies. And they are steadily losing my support. But that's just my opinion. Nathan

When I said "paid for and locked up", I was being polite, and sarcastic! NASCAR has their priority, and I completely agree with you; hard turns and left and right at that! That being said, those skinny tires on a road course like COTA would be entertaining, not to mention the road course ringers the teams would bring in... I'm just sayin'... --Frank

Yeah I know but the first year we were fortunate to have the V8 Supercars race at COTA and Kurt Bush came and did a swap with one of the Supercars drivers and he drove his Furniture Row Chevy SS on the course and he said he loved the course go to YouTube and type in Kurt Bush at COTA.
