Here is the hi-detail project I am starting NOW!!! The Tilt kit, Thanks Patrick, is very nice, I am using only the body!! for the Chassis, suspension and other parts, the Hasegawa Lancia Stratos HF Rally, Thanks Paul, Spot Model out of Spain provided an Reji, resin Ferrari/Lancia V-6 engine... and months of research has provided me with some factory blueprints, cut a way drawings and quite a few pics.. Looking forward to working daily on this one..... I am going to post the W.I.P. Chris

Interesting project, but it may take a while for the looks of the Le Mans car to grow on me.

I will look and see what I have, I do have a 1/20 Road Race version with flared fenders, front splitter, and rear spoiler, no wing , a rare Japan kit, and a Union 1/20 Stratos HF kit so that will an up-coming project to make a non-turbo Road Race car.. I really would like to convert a Fujimi 1/12 kit to a Road Race kit but just the base kit is MUCHO BUCK'S could be very cool though!!! Chris

It sure does, strange though because even the motor mounts match up with the Hasegawa chassis.. Chris

I have the Tamiya kit - wonder how it compares with the Tilt?

I have a TILT Toyota Celica LiftBack Group 5 racer I built for my dad's desk in the US Toyota headquarters in about 1980. I felt the body, stance, wheels and tires, etc. all looked great. It got LOTS of positive comments from Toyota Japan staff. So I expect the Stratos to be good as well. I can't speak for the Tamiya, as I haven't seen one in person. But we all know the usual Tamiya quality. Typical of Japanese model kits of the era, my Celica is a curbside. Fortunately you have other kits to get the detailed chassis and engine.
If you need to see what those Weber carbs look like for detailing, I have one of the same exact model (full scale) in the garage that I used to use on my offroad race car.

I have the Tamiya kit - wonder how it compares with the Tilt? They are close enough that the Acu stion P/E for Tamiya set fits almost all the Tilt and Fujimi applications with only minor variations and the Hasegawa chassis fits the Tilt body with no modifications..its a wonder how close 4 Manufactures got their kits so close to each other, making interchange and detailing relatively simple... and to have the ST27, Acu stion and Hasegawa detail sets interchange is equally amazing, the add Reji Model out of Spain to source for a Lancia/Dino V-6 engine and more detail stuff well You get it!!!! I finished up the Air to Air Intrecooler , scratchbuilt a distributor, added a bunch of nuts, bolts and misc. The Intercooler was about 40 pieces starting with a couple of chunks out of a Big Rig Custom grill! I am going to finish the intake, fuel logs , wiring, pulleys and the on to the front suspension... bit by bit....
