Apparently this is old news. I found the same announcement was made in Autoweek on July 18th. Given that Joest previously ran Audi's WEC program, the DPi Mazdas should be more competitive. Hopefully that and Penske fielding some Hondas will make the 2018 DPi season more interesting than the current season's yawn fest. I wonder if Mazda is looking at a WEC program too.
