Those are great photos! I wonder what the story is with the full fendered car off the side of the track in the 1st photo. Also note the nearness of the spectators to the track and the almost non-existent barrier between the crowd and the track.

Looks like Dan Gurney's Eagle for certain, maybe the Nurburgring? I think it's the end of the story for the car on his left!

They often run support races on the same weekend as main events. I suspect the car was a crash victim from an earlier support race which was just left in place off the edge of the track. As you note Rob by the minimal barricades and spectators right along the track safety was an after thought during this period. Cost many driver and spectators their lives as a result.
