Can anyone provide the identification markers that distinguish a T70 Mk I from a Mk II from a Mk III?
And can you tell which Mark the IMC and AMT kits are closest to representing? I have compared the two bodies and they seem identical to me.
Would greatly appreciate some insight here.
Thanks, Rick

Thanks, Bernard! That shows the history of every chassis, and many colors.
Can anyone tell the visual differences between the Marks?

Rick, The IMC and AMT T70s are both Mark I's modeled in 1965. The visual differences between Mk I and Mk II T70s are mighty slim. There are greater differences between teams than between the marks.
But I don't recall ever seeing any Mk IIs with actual headlights in the front fenders, even though the fiberglass still had the molded buckets and formed covers.
The Mark IIIs had no brake cooling intakes outboard of the radiator intake in the nose. This will visually make them stand out. The Simoniz and Penske-Sunoco and the AAR-Dan Gurney Mark IIIs are the stand-outs of that model. All the Mark III versions of those teams can be distinguished by the lack of brake inlets.
In later days of their use, most T70s got the rear wheel openings enlarged for bigger wheels and tires, and the fiberglass added to for tire coverage. But this was done regardless of which model the particular T70 was, and the shape differed from car to car. Spoilers were also added and changed from time to time without regard to model or particular car. Like many race cars, each T70 got changed as time went on trying to keep up and/or get ahead of the competition.
For building models, either kit may be used for any racing T70 Spyder. It's very EZ to fill the brake intake scoops. Re-shaping the rear fender flares is the tough part of building a model of a later T70.

I think somewhere along the way, a dash hoop was added. I saw some pix showing this and tried to replicate it on my IMC Penske T70. I don't know if this was a MkIII or not. And another look at the car,

The Penske team used a Mark II earlier, but the T70 with the big rear fender flares and no brake inlets in the nose WAS a Mark III. I notice the radiator outlet has correctly been re-shaped to reflect that the spare tire was no longer under the panel between the outlet and the windscreen on your model. Note the same change to the front lid in the 1966 Mark II Penske car at the Riverside Times Grand Prix in this Gil Munz photo from the link Bernard posted above. www.lolaheritage.co.uk/scrapbook/068/4b.htm
