Very nice - proves the IMC kit can be built into something.

Some of the Japanese kits of Chaparrals might be kinda nice. Externally. As long as you don't look for an engine. Or chassis structure. But the old IMC kit can be built into quite a nice model. I built one when IMC 1st issued it. Not as pretty as the one above. Mine didn't survive a certain earthquake though. I wouldn't mind having another to build. But folks tend to be rather proud of them these days.

IMO, the IMC kits have gotten a bad rap as tough to build. They are, but not excessively so. I built several as a teenager (don't ask how long ago!) and didn't have any major trouble. They just require a lot of pre-fitting and some deviation in build order. I have a few of the Union re-issues waiting for me to build in retirement, looking forward to them. The Chaparral above is a fine example, all my teenage builds needed was an airbrush, paint booth and the skill to use them!

That really looks great! I had the Lola and didn't like the fit. However , I now see how good a built kit can look.

The IMC and MPC kits have issues but it is just cool to see these older kits being built instead of sitting in a box.

That sure looks good C66. Your skills really shine on this build.

I ran across a guy on eBay last night who sells lots of Chaparral stuff, including models. I can't find the link right now though, of course. I bought a 2E from someone else.

The LS version of the Arii 2C covers those issues. It has the Modeler's 2D tub, carburetors, wheels, and tires. It is much harder to find than the Arii version on which it is based.
