I need updated on this also, who is the best, feather, minimal shrinkage, etc.,etc. and so on. Made it to the primer stage today, not many marks BUT I have Tamiya white not overly impressed. the only reason I say that about eurosoft, I like it, a lot actually I'm just not sure HOW heavily involved I want to get back in the hobby.

I use gap filling super glue, Mr Surfacer, and, on rare occasions, Apoxie Sculpt. However, I go to great lengths to avoid using any filler at all and I have yet to build a model that required any major body re-contouring, re-shaping, etc.

Thanks Rob, yeah I know what you mean about filler, but, since I basically "scratch built" the chassis for this Chaparral 2C there are a couple issues that gap filling would probably work well. the ARII body is very nice overall just needs tweaked a bit. Before I dropped out of this for awhile I HAD a can of EUROSOFT TOO much for the amount of actual building I do.

I like Squadron green over their white. Goes on smoother. Feathers better. You can use a 1/8" dab of it and sand in 10 or 15 minutes. 2-part putty may be nice when using large quantities like building a lead sled. But not for small bits. I rarely encounter a model that doesn't need a little bit here and a little bit there. Whether I'm doing modifications or not. Frame rails, floor panels, etc. But I've even used Squadron green for major body work. You just have to apply it in a more intelligent fashion than magazine writers like Mr Gustavson. A little at a time. Not applied with a shovel. I did that Corvette in about 1970. It hasn't shrunk since. The picture was taken recently. Those rear fenders are about 5/16" thick green putty. Filling in with sections of styrene sheet before adding putty would work to reduce shrinkage issues for thick build up areas like those fenders. But the shape of those developed. They weren't planned. I added to them until they looked right. I could do another one like it now far quicker.

Richard I commented here but it disappeared somewhere. I have used both green and white Squadron products with great success and like you using it sparingly. Last summer our community sponsored a no questions asked program to collect your "undesirable" things soo naturally since I hadn't touched any of it for years out the door all my paints, filler, washes, all the good stuff, scooped up and GONE! Thank goodness I came to my senses and held on to my styrene and aftermarket stuff, phew lots of "one" off things! So I have been restarting and there are, and probably will be, way more questions about this and that. If this CHAPARRAL 2C comes together the way I am hoping it will, I WILL post photos and discuss anything! Right now, in the thick of things, I need to concentrate and pull this together. Like I mentioned, I scratch built the tub using the Chaparral aluminum 2E for my base and adapting the interior out of the Monogram 2d. To me it just looks better than the spare Modelers 2D version i have so this is pretty much IT as to whats going on with MY W.I.P..
P.S. I know its nasty but does anybody still use CA and Baking Soda?
