The car that destroyed the Trans Am, just like the Porsche 917/30 killed the Can Am.
Saw it race at the one Trans Am held at the F1 race around the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

I believe the turbo is what's making the chirping sound.

I believe the turbo is what's making the chirping sound. Actually the chirping comes from excess boost being released through the waste gate. Porsche 935's made a very similar sound. |

I remember going to a race at Hallett Motor Speedway in Oklahoma, and watching Peter Gregg in a 935 crest the hill in the Turn 8/Turn 9 complex, and brake and downshift for the tight right hand Turn 9. You could hear the waste gate chirp at each downshift, and then he'd accelerate toward Turn 10, and all you heard was a "woosh" from the turbos. Magical. |

No Doubt, the Audi in either format was the German Killer in both series, It was a major reason I bought my 02 A6 Quattro, my car has the AWD developed from the Rallye and Road Race cars and the Porsche Tip -Tronic trans, and can be driven in 5 speed configuration (although Automatic) with a slap of the hand just like in the video... the 305 hp V-6 gets up and screams, Two things I would love is the Chirp from the turbo and Those Wheels..I looked for years to find something that looked similar for my road car with no luck.. those would look Awesome on my car... I bought a XR4Ti after seeing it in IMSA followed by the A6 after seeing it in IMSA.. the Audi wins hands down... Chris
