Congratulations on a gorgeous build! You can be proud of your effort. I think it is 1/24 scale, not 1/20. Right? Ismael, Thanks so much my friend for those most kind words, they're much appreciated. And yes, it's 1/24 scale. I keep on making that mistake. I've corrected the original post which I also need to thank you for. Joel

Beautiful work. This has been one of my favorite WIP threads, and it’s great to see how awesome the finished product turned out!

Joel, still looking for the pics of my build of this model.. Excellent build I have noticed over the years that this particular Car/Kit/Model can be extremely Over Detailed I have seen in person a couple that look like the guy shrank the real car with so many hoses, wire and left hand Frami ( plural for Framis?) that it can be a huge mess and even at that kinda ugly looking, not like the real car. That said I find your detail level and execution more appealing and much easier on th eyes. Mine was similar as a curbside.. So Be Proud..Excellent! Chris

Chris Chris, I actually tried to just add enough detailing to fool the viewers eye. It was never my intention to create an exact or as close to a miniature as I could, because I'm just not that skilled. Certainly no where near the level as so many of the lists membership is. To that extent I think I succeeded. As I look ever closer, I can see errors and screw ups, but honestly if I redid it, it just might not turn out as well. Most of my builds are more towards the Box Stock end of the scale, with just some engine detailing. As a matter of fact, I'm planning the Hasegawa 962C which is a curbside kit, and if I can find another Tamiya 956, it will be as yours is; curbside as well. With the rear body shell off, it does loose that overall look, so I really need two of them. The thumbs up from the members here really means quite a lot to me. This list certainly is all about the quality of the build, not the quantity of builds. Joel

Fabulous work, Joel. At the end of the day, you being happy with it is what's most important. But you have nothing to be ashamed about. Looks terrific!

Well Joel...I think you accomplished your goal on this build. The car looks GREAT. The detail is spot on too.... As ALL have said...it's YOUR build and YOU are the JUDGE. If you are satisfied with the final results...then that's ALL that counts.

I'm more then satisfied with my progress and the results. Yet I do see many areas for improvement which I do take as a positive not a negative. Joel

Joel, This turned out to be an excellent model! Keep up the good work. Rob, thanks so much for the thumbs up. It's greatly appreciated. As for the excellent model, the thanks go to Tamiya for producing a kit of this complexity and quality way back in 1984. Joel

Very nice build Joel. Do you mind if I ask who the supplier was for the seat harness assembly? Brent Just wanted to post a quick update that I'm finally on the last lap of the build. I finished the cockpit with the addition of the seat harness assembly, added the dash to the inside of the shell, finished the wheels and tires, and then installed the front shell to the chassis. I decided not to try and hand paint the Dunlap logos on the tires as I'm 100% that I'd screw them up, plus I have as many pictures of the tires with out the white lettering as with it. Here's a few pictures to bring you all up to date. Joel

brenthg, Sorry for the delay in responding, but I just saw your post.
The seat belts and harness are by Tamiya, that just about every online retailer carries. They're generic, but for a GT car, work well.
