Hello, You guys are a bad influence! I just got this from eBay after seeing one built here. Not that I'll start on it right away but just in case, what can you tell me about this kit? I've read ride height could be an issue. Any fit or accuracy problems? I need to research this car before even opening the box. Any good sources of references? Thanks, Ismael

I'm anxious to see what you do with this kit as you're one of my favorite builders. I'm sure it will be a stunner if the decals don't let you down.

The body was frustrating for me. The bars on the rear of the chassis interfered with the underside of the rear bumper. I ended up trimming most of the underside of the bumper off, but still never got it quite how I wanted it. My explanation isn’t great, but I think it will make sense when you get into it.
I also ended up gluing the front bumper to the hood instead of the chassis as called for in the instructions. It may not be prototypically correct, but I was afraid of having a big gap between the bumper and hood. Unfortunately, the extra weight makes the hood want to droop at the A posts.
After seeing your builds, none of those issues will be any trouble for you, but those are the gotchas I ran into.
Also, the decals are tricky. They’re thick but lay down ok. The hood is the worst. I ruined two different decals using Solvaset trying to get it to conform. If I had a third decals, I’d just go with warm water...haha. BTW, I have a spare sheet of decals (minus the hood logo) that you’re welcome to if you want them.
One last thought, most reference pics I found had a rear-facing roof camera pod. There is an excellent rendition of one in the last couple of issues of the Monogram NASCAR Thunderbirds.

Thanks guys! Rob, This is your fault! Not sure how quickly I'll get to it. The decal sheet has yellowed a little bit and may need a clear coat to be on the safe side. Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, after seeing your builds, I think you’ll really enjoy this one. The chassis is very detailed and goes together easily. The large windows show off a lot of interior detail, both in the cockpit and behind the rear firewall. I especially like the brake master cylinders that are in plain view behind the dash plate, and the oil lines that run around the rear of the chassis under the big rear window. There is a lot to see on the completed build even without removing the body panels.
I’ll be anxious to see your progress whenever you get to it. I suspect you’ll figure out great ways to improve upon all the detail that is already there.
