I thought I would watch it until the Indycar race started. I knew attendance is lagging, but Bristol was one of the top drawing venues.

NASCAR has shot itself in the foot. It's now the 'pro wrestling' of motorsports.

You may be right.I always thought it would go back to being a regional series like it was in the 1950s,60s,& 70s, but if they can't even sell tickets in the south...

I have watched a couple each F1, Indy, and NASCAR recently. Indy has definitely turned into the most fun and exciting of the three to watch, but today's Bristol race was so much better than any of the recent F1 races. Sorry, but other than the sound of the engines, F1 has turned into a snoozer as a spectator sport.
No offense intended. 🙂

I noticed that too. A shame really as the racing was very good. Some on other forums are saying that the track and general area around it is not fan friendly and the tickets have become very pricey and that may be the cause for the low attendance but I think there may be other issues involved as well. To me it seems that the younger "market" NASCAR ran off their traditional older fans to appeal to has abandoned them. Sad. Just my observation and opinion.

NASCAR ran me and millions of others off in an effort to capture a younger market that never existed. The car culture we knew doesn't exist anymore. I was a very loyal NASCAR fan as I followed Jeff Gordon from the time he ran sprints and midgets at IRP. In their continuing efforts to solve their problems they fixed it until they broke it.
