CC, Congrats on your 1st place in class. The model from your pictures looks fantastic. Being one with zippo knowledge of drag racing, I have a question for you. Why are the exhaust headers arched the way they are, instead of the more traditional close to the block configuration? I'm assuming that it allows less restriction to the exit of the exhaust gases. Also, I've never seen intake trumpets that long before. Is the reason greater induction velocity of air?

Joel, Thanks. The headers are that way to clear the frame and steering shaft. Also allows a larger exhaust header tube size. The intake may be a little longer then normal but it looks cool. Yes the equal length is tuned for maximum torque at launch. Most of the gasser’s ran a setback on the engine and a little more tilt for rear weight bias. That’s also why the ft suspension is raised up a little more the the rear of the car. Looking for maximum traction on take off. CC
