OMG !!! The best race of the season by far. Assuming that once again the Stewart's don't penalize Verstappen for his last lap pass of Ferrari's Leclerc for the win, this was by far the most exciting F1 race I've seen in years.
For once Mercedes really wasn't the cream of the crop, as they seem to have issues when it's more of a handling track. Hard racing at the front through Mid pack was the norm. And McLaren/Norris was the clearly the best of the mid packers, making excellent progress every week. Thank goodness they have Norris as their #1 driver.

Great Race, good to see some of the mid field guys do better, Congratulations to Honda for their first F-1 win in many years. Being a Tiffosi I thought the pass for the win was OK but I do have a problem when you force someone off the track to do it, yeah I heard the comment "Had there been a Gravel Trap it would have been a different outcome" Vettel thought it was OK and then said " You know my problem with the Stewart's" and I will also agree with Verstoppen " It was Hard Racing, if they penalize me then Why are we even Here" Its just pushing a car off the track to make a pass stick that is really a problem and someday someone might even Die from that kind of thing, there was actually 3 laps left and Verstoppen could have done it in another matter.Looking back at a ton of passes lately, that seems to be a common thing, Vettel Hamilton Alonso and many others have done it and gotten away and some not. Great Race all the way from the start to finish I am watching it for the 3rd time now...Chris Ps Man there was a Ton of Orange Shirt Dutch there Unbelievable!!

Chris, Orange is my new favorite color. Of course McLaren is also Orange and some Blue these days.
I think that one has to know when the corner is lost and just not hang in there till it's to late. Verstappen clearly showed that he had the wheel right locked 100%. They were dead equal, but Max had the inside line.
Next race is Silverstone. I'm already conceding it to Mercedes as it's a speed circuit plain and simple.

Just saw this posted on the F1 site, so Max wins even with a 5 sec penalty:
Charles Leclerc comes in second – and within five seconds – as it’s announced that the stewards are looking at the moment he lost the lead. Valtteri Bottas is third, Vettel fourth, Hamilton in fifth.

Np penalty racer.com/2019/06/30/verstappen-victory-confirmed-after-fia-investigation/n watching the video I did find it interesting that Max kept his steering wheel straight under hard braking, until he was inside the Ferrari's wheel base forcing Leclerc to touch and go wide , I dont know if he had turned the wheel sooner it would have been a pass or a wreck... Oh Well..once a Tiffosi always a Tifossi!! Chris

Chris, Seems that the site I was paraphrasing got it wrong or just made it up. I just checked the official F1 site, and indeed no penalty was given to Max.
"No further action. That was the decision of the Austrian Grand Prix stewards regarding the on-track clash between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, meaning Verstappen keeps his victory at the Red Bull Ring with Leclerc second."
As we both said, Max kept his wheel full to the right through the apex, Leclerc just wouldn't concede the corner which indeed he had lost. It was a gutsy move for sure, but Leclerc wasn't going to make it any easier for Max to pass anywhere else, and turn 3 seemed where Max had his measure every lap.
Like I said, this was one of the best F1 races I've seen in years, and what the powers to be should make their goal moving forward. The announcers said a few times about then sheer number of Tweets from viewers that would never bother to watch another F1 race after France. That's how much the fan base hates what F1 has become. Way to much racing on TV to watch a race that bores you to death.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching that race. It revived my interest in following the rest of the season. Ferrari can't buy a break.

But from my point of view, Max Verstappen & his Red Bull car was the class of the field not either Ferrari. Joel
