Jim, Betcha it wasn't easier with the real thing. Our brains tend to only remember the good times, and not so much the bad times, even when they do, they just don't seem so bad now. I'm completely confident in your abilities to solve this problem sooner then later. Joel Thanks for the compliment. Back in the day there were as many as half dozen of us who would walk around the car and come up with a solution. These days it's just me and a can of beer. Unfortunately, I completed the front cage hoop around the engine, and the firewall, and the fuel filler, all about the same time, and didn't take the time to dry fit on each. Going to reverse engineer it tonight, pull the fuel filler out first, and see if the rake comes back. If so, I might call on Dr. Dremel again.

Jim, Like I said. I have complete faith in your ability to get it right, just like you've done every time in your build. Joel

Wow, didn't realize it had been since September that I updated this thread. Remember, this is what I was trying to replicate: Got the body back from my painter (Thanks, Lee!), but let it sit for several weeks as I worked on a couple of other projects I had started in the interim. Pictures don't do it justice. This was a quick dry fit. Finished up the rolling chassis last night (the supply and overflow hoses for the cell are only on temporarily, they get finalled once the body is on). And here's some body-off pictures. The doors will be SuperGlued on once the body is on the chassis. One more big push, and this one's done!

Turned out very nice! That must have been a handful to drive hard.

Jim, You really nailed it. I'm sure that Richard Petty would be very proud of your build. And the color paint is just dead on.
