I asked for a suggestion as to what everyone would like for this months Banner Photo, Can Am came up and I agree that's a good subject. And there are enough original pics out there , because I wouldn't want a restored car as the Banner..So I have a couple and I will let the members vote on this Poll. Photo A) Ford GA-7 with P.J. driving Photo B) McLaren M8B with Denny Hulme driving Please comment below and let me know, this Poll will go until Sunday 12-8-19 Thanks for Your Input! Chris

Actually that's Denny driving the McLaren, but I prefer the Ford picture, since McLaren Can Am car pictures are a dime a dozen.

I agree, McLarens of this era are common, I dig the G7-A with its transitional bodywork.

Chris, I'm still voting for a early year McLaren. McLaren made the Can Am. It quickly turned into them vs everyone else. You just couldn't beat them on the track. Just as Roger Penske who kept on buying last years team cars, and still couldn't beat them. While the Ford GA7 played a roll, it was just a side note to the McLaren story.

Tough choice. The Ford a cooler looking car, but the McLaren is a better photo. The Ford is there now, lets leave it. You can come back with the McLaren in a month or 2.

Ok I found a better pic of the Ford GA-7 in original un-restored form , it also fit the Banner better so I switched it up. The poll says most like the McLaren but would prefer the Ford due to its uniqueness, so with so much going on I am going to leave it the way it is. I also went through one of my Can Am files , about 1500 photos and have some very nice Can Am pics for future consideration.. Happy Holidays to Everyone , Dont forget to squeeze some building time this coming month, it really does help to make the Holidays easier to handle... Chris

Chris, Way better picture. It's so much better that they don't look like the same car, even though they are.

I like the period photos of the cars doing what they were built to do.

The blue car is the Allen Mann Open Sports Ford. The G7A is a different car based on a Mk IV GT40. The owner of the Open Sports Ford built a replica to race in vintage. Both for sale for a cool million.
