Looking like a race car now! Well done.
Decals and windshields....I'll mess them up every time.

Thanks arctic wold and mickgee! Still dealing with the windows situation. The windshield I think I can cut from the window assy and the two side windows and rear window I think I'll cut from clear Evergreen stock. Decals....well....in dealing with aircraft a lot there's usually a TON of decals so I'm used to those thankfully.

Thanks you guys for the encouraging comments. Ok gang....the first of the boo-boo corrections has been accomplished. Where I cut the decals to fit what I thought was a little bit better and turned out being too much above the wheel openings has now been corrected. I've gotta touch up the interior headlining a little bit now but that's small stuff. The more I looked at this the more it bugged me. Before...paying close attention to the white area above the wheel openings... And....after the corrections. The passenger side "Penzoil" decal lifted on me on the mask off and stayed stuck to the tape but I found another one and have already replaced it. Next up.....gonna tackle painting that white roof...

mustang1989 As Adrian said, decal really make the build look like a race car shell. One question, why leave the white top till after the decaling? There's always a chance even with a clear gloss coat that the tape will lift a decal or too? And believe me I only know all to well how that little screw up works.

Joel I was afraid you were going to ask that question. I screwed up and didn't look at my references close enough till AFTER I had already painted and decaled this thing up. Believe me....when I saw the white roof my heart sank. I'll get through it ok though...….I promise.

This looks great my friend - I am following closely and it's coming along beautifully As to the retro painting of the roof and the issue it poses with decal lifting etc. - Can I ask you if you have ever worked with Future Floor Polish? A light hit of that through the airbrush and let it cure for a few days then you can tape over top of it with no decal lift - just a suggestion

I did get it all figured out. I masked off the roof and covered the whole body in plastic so as to avoid the overspray and went to work. I laid the white down and wet sanded it after it dried to smooth everything out, laid down the decals and let those dry out and then went to work on my gloss finish. It aint perfect in regards to "correctness" but I got it close enough for me to be able to live with.

I'm really becoming a fan of this build ... love it!

Thanks Adrian, This build has been going a lot slower than a lot of my other ones just because of parts....and the money to get them. Used to I would buy everything I needed BEFORE a build. Now I'm having to spread everything out as I can afford it. Things are slowly coming together now. Sometimes it's a "one step forward and two steps backwards" gig. Like today for instance, I saw that one of the rear wheels that I shot with Molotow has cracking in the chrome finish. Dunno what happened there as the other rear wheel is ok. Guess it's a bath in oven cleaner and a re-shoot for that one though. The other thing that I've noticed was the rear bumper. There are two HUGE sink marks on the outside of the bumper where the two mounting tabs are located on the inside of the bumper. Looks like that's gonna get stripped and some body work is coming down the pike. One thing after another with this kit...………...BUT......that's modeling. The other thing that has been hampering me is myself. Like....forgetting to paint the roof white for instance. And just yesterday I saw where I forgot to paint the tail light panel black. No biggie....just masked off and shot it semi gloss black this morning and it turned out ok. Updated Mock up shots:

Finished up the hood this morning. Applying white over red was NOT an easy job to do. Fought the color bleed through thing all the way BUT....I got it!
