I stopped watching NASCAR on Feb 18, 2001, when I found I was a Dale fan more than a NASCAR fan. So I haven't followed it in almost 20 years which means I can't comment on the accuracy of your model. I didn't even know they used Camaro shapes, but it certainly looks gorgeous! The attention to detail and realism is certainly there. Very clean build! My only comment is on the rear quarter windows: Maybe a black outline will help it blend. Love the wheels and tires.
Thanks, Ismael

I'm curious Adrian, is that decal set from Mike's Decals? Hey Paul! Yes the decals are from Mike's Decals, as is the Resin Camaro body - I love Mike to be honest - he shop is great. These are Powerslide decals who I feel are doing the best NASCAR Decals at the moment.

Good Luck to you Adrian. I do have to agree with Artic Wolf's statement on this one about a bunch of "yahoos". When I hear statements like "swappin' paint"... not for me. I attended a NASCAR race at Pocono in 1990 courtesy of free tickets and curiosity....once was enough. I probably am not making many friends here, but then again I don't think I have many to begin with. Sure you built a very nice Model..wrong crowd. If you are not talking about numbers for example like 911 or 348 you could mill your own parts and it wouldn't matter. Trust me been there. I no longer attempt to, and YOU would do well here to heed, instill my personal vehicle passions on this forum. I still have a few guys interested in my projects, but basically I have switched to lurker....there are still things that I am interested in. There are a few guys here that won't give you the time of day. W.Brown Well thank you for taking the time to comment on my build. As for those on this Forum who "wouldn't give me the time of day" I just feel sorry for them as they are missing out on the most wonderful thing in this life ...relationships. I have built every type of model you can think of from planes to motorcycles, but I just happen to be doing Stock Cars at the moment and loving every minute of it
I thank all of the members who have taken the time out to give me feedback, and if I find there just isn't enough interest here I will go somewhere else

Wow, that’s beautiful! What kit and decals did you use? While some of us aren’t into NASCAR, we can all pick up new techniques from excellent builds like this one. Back in the late ‘90s, I flew for a company that provided planes and pilots to some of the NASCAR teams. It was usually somebody’s pit crew and we sometimes got to watch the race from the pits. It was interesting for the first couple of times, but after that, I’d just head straight for a hotel to get some sleep. I did enjoy the Watkins Glen races. It’s impressive how fast those big heavy cars can get around a twisty track. I got to meet a lot of the drivers, and most were really decent folks, with the occasional jerk thrown in. There was one team most of us liked to fly, because the driver DNF’d pretty often, so we’d get to come home early but we still got paid for the whole trip. I think he ended up driving in the truck series. At another company I flew for in the ‘80s, we took some people to the race at Talladega. At the airport, I bumped into one of the Allison’s (I think it was Bobby) next to his Piper Aerostar that had been modified with Allison turboprop engines. He was pretty excited about it and spent a good 15 minutes telling me all about it. Ben Hi Ben! Thanks for the kind words and I love the Bobby A. story. The decals and resin Body are from Mike's decals - great online shop with tons of cool stuff - check him out!

I moved all the comments from the Open Wheel section Adrian and posted them here. I hope you don't mind.

Mike seems Nascar oriented but he sometimes has other goodies so I check in every now and then. Also he's reasonable on price and he doesn't try to shaft you on delivery charges, so he gets an A from up here on the glacier.

I'm really not to sure that I agree with the comments relating to either not caring for Nascar racing/modeling, as well as the assumption that if a model is not to your real car or model interests, the tendency is just to blow right past them. For the most part I've experienced the exact opposite here. If it has an engine and a min of two wheels, it does get views, posts, and thumbs up.
Newer members just might take the lower counts that their models are getting when comparing them to other sites, and that is basically true here. But that's because we're a smaller site then many of the other modeling sites. Hense, the number of current builds is less. But when you stop to look at those builds, the quality of work is rather consistantly high. I've always learned a new thing or two from every build posted here. And for the most part every member is more then happy to share to the best of their abilities.

Hi ,great model, here in the UK we do not get much NASCR on the box,and I can't afford Sky, but back to your model ,the netting on the driver's door look's heavy or is it like that on the 1/1 car ,you detailing look's so good so I am guessing it correct. nhoj

Re. Mike's Decals: Oh my. More race car modeling stuff I didn't know I needed. This is all Adrian's fault! Seriously, thanks for the link! Ben

Thanks, Ismael Ya the rear windows do need the black outline to blend, which all the NASCAR Series runners have, but this is Chase's Nationwide car and if you look at the rear car there is no black outlines around the windows which is why I didn't put them on - wanted to be as accurate as possible.
