There is no Camaro ZR-1. I think you mean ZL1? I'm not familiar with modern NASCAR but only the front "fascia" has a slight resemblance to a Camaro.
Thanks,

Adrian, I have a question. Have you ever used a Revell Snaptite kit as a basis for a build? Does Mike the decal man have a chassis kit that would work with it?
Cheers mate

Hey Paul! Actually I have never used a Snaptite kit - however I have almost bought one several times because it was the suggested donor kit for a resin body. But I know at least with the Revell Snaps the quality of the parts is low compared to Tamiya’s Snaptites. I almost bought the Tamiya Indy Lola to use on my Eagle but I ended up going with a regular Revell kit. We will see how that turns out because I think that’s my next build

Adrian, I've already posted in your build blog, but I just didn't realize how rough the resin casting skin is. The one resin body I had never was smooth enough to get the paint to where I wanted it. How do you prepare your resin shells if you don't mind me asking?

Yes there is a lot of clean up involved with the resin cold casts - personally I clean the body with alcohol and then wet sand it with a Tamiya 3000 sponge. Then I apply 2 or 3 coats of Tamiya Grey Primer - wet sand in between as necessary. After the 2nd coat of Primer I wet sand until the finish feels like glass to the touch - then I apply my first coat of colour.

Adrian, I see. The one resin body I tried, I just never got it down to the smooth as glass stage, so the color coat was just not acceptable to what I was producing on injected molded kits. So I just stopped going that route.
