I have looked at my kit, and yes I think I'd have the same fit problem. My solution is usually more or less what you have in mind, so I'm going to let you try it first!!

Good golly, Patrick! That plumbing looks like a nasty job to do for sure...but damned if it didn't work out! Looks fantastic, my friend!

That looks too good to be covered by a body. Can you display the body next to it in a set of stands? That’s where Chris is going with his. Eventually, I’ll have six 312s, a126C2 and a 641/2. Not sure how that’s gonna work!

Yessir! You are both wizards...and I am for sure going to ask Santa Claus for some knitting needles this year. Seems the only area I may be able to keep up!

How’s the 641/2 coming along? I’m thinking of stripping mine eventually to make it show quality. Better order decals from Michael before you corner them all!

Patrick you may want to re think filling in the seams, they are in my opinion a large part of a racing car. Reason is those panels should come off individual so the mechanics can service that area of the car if need be. I am in the process of working on the side pods and I am not filling in the seams. But if you decided to go ahead with your current plans, please do so, it’s “your” model. Yeah the gaps on the rear wing holder is crap. It takes a little wile to work through it. I sanded the trans cooler mounts down so I could slip it in after the two halves where glued. That way I could work on the gaps. You know how to reach me!!

Patrick, Your plan to fix the misaligned body side panels is exactly what I always end up doing. Even in 1/20 scale, slightly misfit panels are an everyday occurrence.
And your wiring is simply amazing.

So here is what I might do... I think I will glue the side pods as one piece but leave the seam. Then try to find some kind of connectors that will allow me to attach the decking and the top. I also might attach the sidepod tops to the main cowling but leave the seams and see how that works out... at least there won't be a big old gap. It will be underneath... I'll try things before I make it permanent. Would you have a source for any kind of flush mount body panel connectors? As far as the rear wing, it seems the trans cooler is too narrow for the slot... any ideas about filling that out?

No source on body mounts/ the trans cooler kind of floats inside the rear wing holder

I recently discovered that there are still some pieces from the aftermarket stuff that I was shorted in my order (I contacted him and got another BS response so basically told him to forget about it and I will make do with something else ) Also, since the local shops are closed for the covid thing, I'm needing to buy basic supplies online, paint, glue, etc. so am waiting to get a decent size order together, rather than pay shipping 10 times over. However, I did get the decals and valve stems on the wheels: And, I've spent the "down time" away from the 641/2 building this...still needs some touching up and I'm hoping to get it dirtied up and mounted to a jump/diorama type display, hopefully sometime this weekend, or at least headed in that direction. Been working a lot of hours so weekends have been slept away lately.

Nice bike rider, Mike!
Sorry about the aftermarket snafu... can you send me a message with the vendor's name so I can avoid that person?
While we are on the subject of decals, is there a better guide for decal placement on the 312T than given the Tamiya directions? And Michael doesn't provide that service so I am kind of flummoxed.
Are there white decals on the floor of the side pods in front of the oil coolers?
I'll scan Michael's sheet and post it so someone can maybe help me figure it out. I will include a scan of the Tamiya page.
How's everybody doing? I am spending about 3 hours a day trying to get ahead on the outdoor work. I might as well have been bailing hay today! The March moisture made the cheat grass grow in a very rapid manner! And then there are the weeds! I love being a homeowner. T

I did not realize the white wrapped around the airbox front until it was constructed. I tried two methods... tape and then dipping... Failure... so I tried building a plug... Failure again, so I figured screw it... it's not important... First decals on... the boxed 12 for the other side has some black smudges, so I am getting another set. These are wrinkled because of the MicroSol. Red is going down on the main body cowling today with primer on the nose and the side pods. Hopefully get those painted today as well. Your comments are always welcome!
